Assistant Brand Manager - Nutrition (Maternity Cover)

About the role

Nestlé is looking for an Assistant Brand Manager - Nutrition to join its Nutrition business in Nairobi on a fixed-term maternity-cover basis of 8 months. The role supports brand strategy execution across assigned brands and markets in East and Horn of Africa, ensuring business continuity and delivery of key marketing priorities while covering the maternity period. It suits someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of key deliverables and work across cross-functional teams in a science-driven Nutrition environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse sales volumes, market-share trends and competitive activity, and support on-time implementation of brand activities and projects.
• Evaluate brand activities before and after launch and provide actionable learning.
• Support consumer and professional marketing initiatives, product development, market research and ATL activities for assigned Nutrition brands.
• Coordinate agencies and third parties, manage BTL agencies and track system activities.
• Track and report marketing spend and support disciplined budget execution.
• Coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, Technical, Finance and other stakeholders, and work with the NBM and Brand team to maintain continuity.
• Support execution across assigned ESAR markets outside the current focus-market remit.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and fluent English.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in brand marketing and marketing management.
• Working knowledge of consumer and trade promotions, distribution/channel development, basic finance and agency management.
• Strong planning, execution, communication, persuasion and project-management skills.
• Previous Nestlé Nutrition, Medical Delegate or other science-led/regulated category experience is advantageous.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP, NPDI, BBNW and ICP is advantageous.
• Awareness of WHO Code and BMS Act requirements is highly relevant.
