Back-end Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Cloud Engineer to join NestAI’s engineering team in one of the major Finnish metropolitan areas. You will design, develop and operate the core backend services that power our adaptive battlefield operating system, ensuring scalability, security and high performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and debug high‑performance backend services and micro‑services.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Manage relational and non‑relational databases, including schema design and versioning.
• Implement distributed‑system patterns using message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or AWS SQS.
• Develop robust integrations with third‑party systems.
• Provision and optimise cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot containerised applications in Kubernetes and Docker.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure observability through logging, monitoring and tracing.
• Collaborate in agile teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proven ability to build scalable, high‑availability architectures.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Experience working in agile, cross‑functional teams.
