Bakery Manager

About the role

A locally focused bakery committed to fresh products, quality ingredients and consistent production standards is looking for a full-time, on-site Bakery Manager in Emali. The manager oversees daily operations, from production planning to customer service, and helps grow the business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily bakery operations, including planning production schedules and supervising baking activities
• Ensure product quality and consistency
• Coordinate staff assignments and train team members on procedures and food safety standards
• Monitor inventory levels to keep adequate stock of ingredients and supplies
• Manage customer service at the counter, handling inquiries and concerns
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
• Track sales, support basic budgeting and cost control, and implement promotional activities

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of bakery operations, including practical experience in bakery and baking
• Prior experience in a bakery, café or food production environment
• Supervisory experience is an advantage
• Ability to work full time on site in Emali and manage a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Customer service in a retail or food service setting
• Food safety standards and hygiene practices, with the ability to enforce compliance
• Inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation and waste reduction
• Team leadership, staff scheduling and performance supervision
• Communication, organization, attention to detail and reliability
