Barista – Kisumu

About the role

Join Java House Africa Ltd as a Barista in Kisumu, Westlands. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages while delivering excellent customer service in a fast‑paced café environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, artisan and specialty drinks.
• Interact with customers at all touch points, ensuring a positive experience.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures for beverage production.
• Assist the lead Barista with stock monitoring, daily stock‑take, and ordering.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and fully functional counter and pastry case.
• Handle take‑away and eat‑in orders promptly and accurately.
• Manage cash float, change, and shift money, ensuring no shortages.
• Control waste, monitor machine performance, and perform end‑of‑shift closures.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Ability to think quickly and make decisions under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly responsible, reliable, and able to work well in a team.
• Excellent customer care techniques.
• Willingness to undergo in‑house barista training.
