Barista – Full‑time position in Kisumu

About the role

Java House Africa Ltd is seeking a motivated Barista to join its Kisumu Westlands café. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages while delivering excellent customer service in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, artisan and specialty drinks.
• Interact with customers at all touch points, ensuring a positive experience.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures for beverage production.
• Assist the lead Barista with stock monitoring, daily stock‑take and cash float management.
• Maintain a clean, tidy counter and pastry case throughout the shift.
• Handle take‑away and eat‑in orders promptly and accurately.
• Control waste, manage change, and ensure proper closure of the counter.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

• Ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly responsible, reliable and a team player.
• Willingness to undergo in‑house barista training.
• Excellent customer‑care techniques.
