Barista – Full‑time role in Kisumu

About the role

Java House Africa Ltd is looking for a motivated Barista to join its Kisumu outlet. You will be part of a team that delivers high‑quality coffee and specialty beverages while providing excellent customer service in a fast‑paced café environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, including coffee, tea, artisan and specialty beverages.
• Interact with customers at various touch points, ensuring a positive experience.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) consistently during production.
• Assist the lead Barista with stock monitoring, daily stock‑take, and ordering via Vuka.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and fully functional counter and pastry case.
• Control waste, manage cash float, and ensure accurate shift closures.
• Collaborate with team members to guarantee prompt order fulfillment for both take‑away and eat‑in customers.

Required profile

• Ability to think and make quick decisions under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly responsible, reliable and able to work cohesively in a team.
• Willingness to undergo in‑house barista training and service coaching.
• Excellent customer‑care techniques.
