Business Analyst – Fixed‑Term (Sydney / Melbourne)

About the role

ASIC’s Digital, Data & Technology Portfolio Office is seeking experienced Business Analysts to join a high‑performing team delivering technology projects across Sydney and Melbourne. The role is fixed‑term (12‑ or 24‑month) and focuses on analysing business needs, shaping solutions and ensuring alignment with ASIC’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business subject‑matter experts and IT teams to elicit, document and manage functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Develop clear, structured artefacts such as user stories, process maps (as‑is/to‑be), integration specifications and test documentation.
• Design user interfaces following User‑Centred Design principles and Australian Government accessibility guidelines.
• Support User Acceptance Testing, prepare user documentation and training materials to drive successful adoption.
• Contribute to solution assessment, validation and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience in both Agile delivery and traditional business analysis.
• Proven ability to facilitate stakeholder workshops and translate business needs into clear specifications.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with executives, designers, developers and testers.
