Business Development Manager – Faith‑Based Organizations

About the role

Equity Bank is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead its Faith‑Based Organizations (FBO) segment. The role will develop and execute a strategic delivery plan, strengthen relationships with churches and related institutions, and drive acquisition, retention, and revenue growth across the bank’s product suite.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the sector strategy across the branch network to drive growth and collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with AML/KYC, CTF, and all regulatory and bank requirements.
• Drive growth of deposits, current accounts, collections business, and digital financial services within the faith‑based sector.
• Manage onboarding, relationship management, and service delivery to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Identify and convert new business opportunities while deepening existing client relationships.
• Oversee customer portfolio management and provide advisory support to clients and Relationship Managers.
• Monitor sector trends and opportunities within churches and faith‑based institutions locally and internationally.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to Relationship Managers and develop sector champions across the network.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in commerce, business, or theology; Master's degree is an advantage.
• At least 10 years of leadership experience, including recent service as a Bishop, Pastor, Priest, Catechist, or Reverend.
• Licensed minister status.
• Training or practical experience in Anti‑Money Laundering and Counter‑Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) frameworks.
