Business Development Officer (IELTS)

About the role

The Business Development Officer (IELTS) will act as the bridge between IDP's IELTS testing services and a range of prospective clients, including educational institutions, corporate partners, and individual students. This position focuses on driving growth, enhancing brand presence, and expanding market reach within Nairobi and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute targeted business development strategies to increase IELTS test registrations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions, study‑abroad consultants, corporate clients, and community organisations.
• Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking events, and direct outreach.
• Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to design promotional campaigns and events.
• Monitor competitor activities and industry trends, providing strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving issues.
• Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals to potential partners and clients.
• Track key performance indicators and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Required profile

• Substantial experience in sales, marketing, or business development within education or testing services.
• Proven success in client acquisition and relationship management with educational institutions and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Understanding of IELTS testing processes, benefits, and target markets is highly advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present confidently.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail for managing multiple projects.
• BSc/MBA in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
