Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will report to the Business Development Manager and drive growth for the branch in Eldoret. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, building member relationships, and achieving sales targets while supporting credit and operational functions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target market segments, register new members and promote appropriate Sacco products.
• Plan, organize and attend educational forums to raise awareness among members, youth groups, churches and other community groups.
• Mobilize member deposits, coordinate community development initiatives and enhance brand visibility.
• Process loan applications, monitor loan performance, and support recovery actions as needed.
• Deliver personalized customer service throughout membership registration, group formation and transactional requests.
• Prepare branch budgets, generate weekly and monthly performance reports, and participate in operational meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field.
• Minimum three years progressive experience in business development or sales within the financial services sector.
• Strong analytical, time‑management and communication abilities.
• High integrity, ethical character and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Competence with general computer systems.
