Business Development Officer

About the role

Octagon Africa is looking for a proactive, results-driven Business Development Officer to drive business growth, identify new market opportunities, build strong client relationships and support sales and marketing initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site position in Nairobi, Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow revenue and market share.
• Execute sales, marketing and digital marketing initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and improve customer retention.
• Conduct market research, prepare business proposals and deliver client presentations.
• Support client onboarding, service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, risk management and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or a related field.
• At least 3 years' experience in business development, sales, marketing or a related field.
• A diploma in Insurance or Pensions is an added advantage.
• Solid understanding of pension schemes is desirable.
• Knowledge of financial services, retirement benefits schemes or investment accounting is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and organisational skills.
