Business Service Manager

About the role

CIMMYT is seeking a Business Service Manager for Kenya to lead and coordinate procurement, logistics, fleet, travel, inventory, and warehouse operations, ensuring they effectively support research programs and country priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end procurement, vendor management, customs clearance and ensure compliance with CIMMYT policies, donor requirements and Kenyan regulations.
• Manage the institutional vehicle fleet, travel arrangements, and related safety and cost‑effectiveness controls.
• Supervise inventory and warehouse functions across Kenya locations, maintaining accurate records, traceability and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 usage.
• Ensure governance, internal controls, risk management and audit support for all business services.
• Lead and develop Business Services staff, provide guidance to program teams and foster cross‑functional collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in business services, procurement, logistics or related functions.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with policies, donor requirements and local regulations.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and risk‑mitigation skills.
