Central Catering & Accommodation Manager

About the role

The Central Catering & Accommodation Manager will lead the university's catering and lodging operations, ensuring high‑quality service for students and staff. Reporting to the Principal of Student Welfare, this position oversees all aspects of food production, accommodation management, and related support functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and ensure smooth operation of the Central Catering and Accommodation Services Department.
• Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies, strategic plans, and operational work plans aligned with institutional objectives.
• Maintain high standards of service delivery, food quality, hygiene, cleanliness, and customer care.
• Supervise staff, promote professionalism, teamwork, and positive engagement with clients.
• Oversee human‑resource functions, including performance management and capacity development.
• Prepare, manage, and control the departmental budget and ensure value for money.
• Manage procurement of food supplies and other departmental requirements in compliance with policies.
• Advise university management on catering, accommodation, and hospitality matters.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Hospitality Management or related field (or Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ experience).
• Minimum of 3‑5 years’ experience in a comparable position within a recognized academic institution.
• Computer literate.
