Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K)

About the role

Our client is looking for a qualified Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA‑K) to join their finance team. The accountant will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support cash‑flow management while providing reliable financial information for strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date bookkeeping records and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare and process client invoices, supplier payments, and related transactions, including e‑TIMS invoices and correct WHT deductions.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, monitor balances, and follow up on collections.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Process payroll and handle statutory deductions such as PAYE, VAT, NSSF, SHIF, Housing Levy, NITA, pension, HELB, and withholding tax.
• Prepare, file and maintain all statutory returns to ensure full tax and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee billing and collections, ensuring audit‑ready financial records.
• Monitor internal controls, recommend policy improvements, and prepare cash‑flow statements, management accounts, and audit schedules.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Valid Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA‑K) certification.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, payroll, tax compliance and financial reporting.
