Chef – Chinese Cuisine

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chef specialized in Chinese cuisine to lead our in‑house kitchen in Nairobi. The chef will design and prepare authentic Chinese meals for staff, events and company functions while maintaining the highest standards of taste, presentation and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and rotate menus featuring a variety of regional Chinese dishes.
• Plan, source and organize ingredients, ensuring freshness and cost‑effectiveness.
• Prepare, cook and plate dishes to meet quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and kitchen sanitation practices.
• Manage inventory, track supplies and coordinate with purchasing and administration teams.
• Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen assistants, fostering efficient workflow.
• Adapt menus to available ingredients while preserving authentic flavors.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a chef specializing in Chinese cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese regional dishes, sauces and cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Relevant culinary training or professional certification.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
