Chief Financial Officer

About the role

Busha is seeking a strategic, commercially driven Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function and partner with executive leadership. The CFO will shape business strategy, manage financial risks, and ensure robust governance in line with Kenyan regulations and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the CEO and Board on financial strategy, growth initiatives, and risk management.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and KPI tracking.
• Oversee preparation of IFRS‑compliant financial statements and internal controls.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, working capital, and multi‑currency operations.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan regulators (CBK, CMA, KRA) and lead audit processes.
• Drive fundraising, investor relations, M&A due diligence, and capital structure optimization.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, establishing robust ERM frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; CPA(K), ACCA or CFAMBA required.
• 10–15 years progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
• Experience in fintech, digital currency exchange, or high‑growth tech environments.
• Proven track record in fundraising, investor relations, and strategic finance.
