Compliance Intern – Business Operations (Nairobi)

About the role

The Compliance Intern will support the Compliance function within Business Operations, providing administrative and coordination assistance. The role focuses on maintaining audit calendars, compliance trackers, and related documentation while ensuring timely updates and follow‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain audit and assurance calendars, track milestones, and support logistical arrangements for internal and external audits.
• Update and monitor compliance trackers for statutory, tax and regulatory obligations, issuing reminders and escalating overdue items.
• Assist in preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and managing action‑point trackers for compliance meetings.
• Conduct preliminary checks of compliance folders, identify missing documents and support the reconciliation of records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Audit, Risk Management, Governance or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant experience in compliance, audit, assurance, risk, internal controls, finance or administration is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
