Cook – Cafeteria Food Service

About the role

The Cook will prepare meals for employees in TMC Transportation’s cafeterias, ensuring high‑quality food service and a safe kitchen environment. This position supports all aspects of the food service operation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to recipe standards and portion controls.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following food handling and safety guidelines, complying with city, county, state, and federal regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service to cafeteria patrons.
• Perform daily tasks including line set‑up, food preparation, cooking, clean‑up, and cash handling.
• Supervise food service workers when the Food Service Supervisor is absent.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a food service operation.
• Knowledge of proper use of food service equipment.
• Ability to multitask, solve problems quickly, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash transactions.
• Physical ability to lift 20 lb and stand for long periods.
