Director of Information Systems

About the role

The Director of Information Systems will own BURN's enterprise technology end‑to‑end, overseeing internal systems, infrastructure, security and delivery capability across all markets. You will have full authority to build, buy or outsource solutions and be accountable for meeting service‑level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise technology strategy and manage the IT budget, including licensing, cloud hosting, hardware and vendor contracts.
• Make all make/buy/outsource decisions for internal tools such as ERP/NAV integration, CRM, agent apps, intranet, knowledge base and helpdesk tooling.
• Collaborate with product managers to prioritize demand, translate road‑maps into backlogs and ensure delivery against SLAs.
• Design, implement and operate 24/7 IT infrastructure (networks, servers, endpoint security, cloud services) for factories and offices.
• Own the cybersecurity stack, data‑protection compliance (GDPR, Kenya Data Protection Act), IT risk register, business continuity and disaster‑recovery plans.
• Maintain the asset register, reconcile device estates and establish device‑lifecycle management.
• Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks, policies and service‑management standards.
