Executive Director – Global Neonatal Health Alliance

About the role

The Executive Director will provide overall leadership, strategic vision and operational accountability for NEST360 Alliance, an international coalition dedicated to ending preventable newborn deaths in African hospitals. Based in Nairobi, the role oversees a multi‑disciplinary team and works closely with governments, donors, and partner institutions across the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the alliance’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the global fiduciary board.
• Lead fundraising initiatives, diversify the funding portfolio and secure multi‑year financial commitments.
• Manage partnership development with African governments, academic institutions, and health organisations.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, financial stewardship, and board governance processes.
• Promote the integration of innovative newborn care technologies, clinician training, and data‑driven quality improvement systems into national health frameworks.
• Drive expansion into new countries while transitioning out of regions where sustained impact has been achieved.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in global health, non‑profit, or development sectors.
• Demonstrated success in large‑scale fundraising and donor relationship management.
• Strong track record of building and managing multi‑stakeholder partnerships across Africa.
• Excellent governance and financial oversight capabilities.
• Ability to translate strategic vision into measurable impact on neonatal mortality.
