Job description

About the role

We are looking for independent contractors to support a real‑world data collection program in Nairobi. You will recruit participants, set up recording devices, and manage equipment and payments on a day‑by‑day basis.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and enrol participants in specified job types at approved work sites.
  • Explain the program, obtain valid written or digital consent, and ensure consent scripts are followed.
  • Issue fully charged devices, set them up according to quality checklists, and collect recordings.
  • Return all equipment to the Nairobi office each day and report any loss, theft or damage immediately.
  • Pay participants the same day via M‑Pay​sa using provided funds and procedures.

Required profile

  • Experience in field recruitment, community mobilisation, micro‑finance, NGO fieldwork or similar independent field work.
  • Fluent in Swahili and working English (Sheng is a plus).
  • Comfortable using smartphone apps and M‑Pay​sa; own smartphone with data.
  • Willing to undergo a background check.
