Field Operations Manager

About the role

The Field Operations Manager runs the Nairobi office end‑to‑end, overseeing local field operations, team recruitment, equipment security and data collection output. This hands‑on leadership role splits time between field work and dashboard monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and directly supervise local Field Officers and logistics staff.
• Oversee secure storage, daily tracking, charging and fault management for all equipment, including wearable recording devices.
• Manage daily dispatch to ensure Field Officers have fully charged equipment and participant consent is recorded before collection.
• Arrange and maintain site access with employers and work sites.
• Drive team output to meet volume targets while balancing collection across manufacturing, retail and logistics environments.
• Oversee same‑day participant payments via M‑Pesa with accurate records and approval controls.
• Enforce operating procedures, monitor performance dashboards, maintain equipment and data logs, and keep equipment loss within agreed limits.

Required profile

• Strong working knowledge of Nairobi, including industrial areas, markets and commercial districts.
• Fluent in English and Swahili; Sheng is a plus.
• Proven track record leading teams in field operations, logistics, BPO, micro‑finance or multi‑site management.
• Comfortable managing daily performance metrics and tracking equipment inventory through dashboards.
• Experience handling mobile‑money disbursements and custody of company assets with a clean track record.
• Willingness to undergo a background check.
