Field Service Engineer - Mechatronics

About the role

Sidel is seeking a self‑motivated Field Service Engineer with a strong mechatronics background to support high‑speed rotary labeling machines worldwide. Based in Nairobi, you will travel extensively to install, commission, and troubleshoot equipment at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, start‑up, commissioning and testing of Sidel labeling equipment at domestic and international customer locations.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on high‑speed rotary labeling machines.
• Provide detailed technical reports and communicate findings to both internal teams and customers.
• Maintain and calibrate PLC systems (Siemens, B&R, ELAU) and related control hardware.
• Support customers in the beverage industry and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of field service experience with high‑speed rotary labeling machines.
• Graduate degree in Mechatronics Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Willingness to travel up to 90 % of the time, including international assignments.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
