Finance and Accounting Transformation Manager

About the role

KPMG is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance and Accounting Transformation Manager to join its Finance and Accounting Advisory unit in East Africa. The role involves leading finance transformation projects for leading organisations across the region, supporting technology‑enabled change, strategic transactions and reporting excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance transformation initiatives, including ERP implementations, finance process redesign, automation and data‑analytics solutions.
• Advise clients on finance operating models, digital transformation strategies and performance improvement.
• Integrate accounting and reporting requirements such as IFRS and IPSAS into transformation projects.
• Support capital‑readiness engagements including IPO readiness, carve‑outs, debt/equity offerings and transaction‑related finance initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled finance solutions.
• Manage multiple client engagements from planning through delivery, coordinating cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
• Deliver high‑quality reports, presentations and client recommendations, and facilitate workshops and training sessions.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, writing proposals and cross‑selling KPMG services.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance transformation and advisory engagements for large organisations.
• Strong ability to work with CFOs, finance leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated track record in managing client projects, delivering high‑impact results and supporting business development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
