Finance Manager – Venture Finance Officer (Kenya)

About the role

Green.Earth is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the flow of funds for its carbon‑credit and land‑restoration projects in Kenya. Based in Nanyuki, you will ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately, transparently, and on time, supporting the organization’s mission to regenerate soil health and generate verified carbon credits.

Key responsibilities

• Record and safeguard all incoming funds on the day they are received.
• Review and approve payment requests against approved budgets, ensuring complete documentation before processing.
• Oversee income, receipts, disbursements, payments, and the preparation of financial reports and asset registers.
• Maintain audit‑ready records with zero missing invoices or unreconciled transactions.
• Compile and submit monthly financial reports to the Country Director and Holding Finance.
• Identify and resolve missing documentation or discrepancies before month‑end close.
• Escalate high‑value payment requests or signs of irregularity promptly.
• Respond to financial queries from division heads, auditors, and Holding Finance.

Required profile

• Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Solid experience in financial management, budgeting, or accounting, preferably within a field‑based, nonprofit or social‑impact organization in Kenya or East Africa.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and high integrity.
• Familiarity with Kenyan financial regulations, tax requirements, and banking practices.
