Financial Accountant

About the role

Jiwambe is seeking a Financial Accountant to support day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accurate records, timely transaction processing, and compliance with statutory requirements. The role is central to maintaining financial integrity and enabling informed business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and payments, prepare payment schedules, and record transactions in the accounting system.
• Assist with daily cash management, prepare bank reconciliations and monitor bank transactions.
• Process monthly payroll, verify data, compute and remit statutory deductions, and reconcile payroll to the general ledger.
• Prepare supplier and customer account reconciliations, follow up on outstanding documentation, and maintain accurate ledgers.
• Support weekly and monthly financial reporting, month‑end closing activities, and maintain financial filing systems.
• Manage statutory compliance submissions (KRA, NSSF, SHA, AHL, NITA) and support internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent degree in Accounting.
