General Manager – Logistics, Mining & Energy (East Africa)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead our fast‑growing organisation operating across logistics, mining, oil & gas and project cargo sectors in East Africa. The role combines strategic vision with hands‑on operational oversight to drive regional growth, profitability and market leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑country regional strategy aligned with shareholder objectives.
• Identify market trends, risks and opportunities and translate them into actionable plans.
• Oversee all operational, commercial and financial functions to ensure efficient, profitable service delivery.
• Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and secure large‑scale contracts through partnerships and joint ventures.
• Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and maintain critical industry certifications.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial performance reporting in partnership with finance.
• Represent the organisation at industry events and maintain relationships with key clients, partners and regulators.
• Lead and develop an executive team, fostering a performance‑driven, people‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering or related field (MBA or Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of industry experience, including at least 5 years in an executive leadership role.
• Proven experience in logistics, mining, oil & gas or related heavy‑industry sectors.
• Demonstrated track record of operating across East Africa or other emerging markets.
