Head of Business Development

About the role

BluChip Technologies, a full-package software development company specializing in retail business solutions, is hiring a Head of Business Development. The role is full-time and on-site in Nairobi County, Kenya, and leads business growth initiatives such as identifying new markets, building strategic partnerships and expanding key accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business plans and oversee sales activities.
• Manage client relationships and coordinate with product and technical teams so solutions match customer needs.
• Analyze market trends, prepare proposals and negotiate contracts.
• Track performance against revenue and growth targets.
• Mentor and guide the business development team to ensure consistent execution of strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Technology or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams and collaborating across departments.
• Ability to work on-site in Nairobi County, Kenya and travel as required for client and partner meetings.

Required skills

• Business development and sales, with a proven record of driving revenue growth and market expansion.
• Business planning and analytical skills to design strategies, interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Account management and experience maintaining long-term client relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Experience in software development, ERP or technology solutions sales is highly beneficial.
