Housekeeper - Five-Star Hospitality

About the role

A client in the hospitality industry, based in Nairobi, is looking for a professional and detail-oriented Housekeeper to keep a five-star property clean, hygienic and well presented. The role covers guest rooms, corridors, lobbies, washrooms and public areas, with a focus on high guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain guest rooms, corridors, lobbies, washrooms and public areas to hospitality standards.
• Change bed linens, replace towels and replenish guest room amenities.
• Dust, vacuum, mop and sanitize assigned areas thoroughly and efficiently.
• Keep rooms and guest areas properly arranged and presented at all times.
• Report maintenance issues, damages and safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
• Handle guest requests professionally and respond quickly to housekeeping needs.
• Use, store and handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely; keep carts, storage rooms and supplies organised.
• Follow health, hygiene, safety and sanitation procedures.
• Support laundry operations and linen management, assist with deep cleaning schedules and special cleaning tasks, and keep guest areas confidential.

Required profile

• Minimum 1-2 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality setting; five-star experience highly preferred.
• Certificate in Housekeeping, Hospitality or a related field is an added advantage.
• Physically fit and able to perform cleaning duties for long periods.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Good understanding of housekeeping procedures, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
