Information Systems Officer – ICT Infrastructure

About the role

The Information Systems Officer will ensure the stability, availability and continuous improvement of enterprise ICT infrastructure services for the United Nations Office at Nairobi. Reporting to the Chief of ICT Services, the incumbent will lead the Network Operations Centre and drive observability, automation and cloud operations across a multi‑tenant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Network Operations Centre (NOC) to guarantee service availability.
• Monitor network, data‑centre and unified communications services, detect incidents, and manage escalation and resolution in line with ITIL practices.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures for incident identification, prioritisation, tracking and coordination of service disruptions.
• Act as Major Incident Manager during critical outages, coordinating technical teams, communications and service restoration.
• Support business continuity and disaster‑recovery planning, testing and operational readiness of infrastructure services.
• Manage enterprise observability, cloud operations and automation initiatives to improve performance and efficiency.

Required profile

• Advanced operational oversight experience in ICT infrastructure environments.
• Proven ability to lead NOC functions and coordinate multi‑level technical support teams.
• Experience with incident management, major incident coordination and ITIL‑based service management.
• Knowledge of business continuity, disaster‑recovery processes and cloud/automation technologies.
