Interim HR Business Partner – 3 Month Contract

About the role

This is a three‑month interim assignment to lead a comprehensive review of the Human Resources function for a leading Kenyan investment bank. The HR Business Partner will evaluate people practices, governance structures, documentation and performance frameworks to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a full HR governance audit, assessing compliance with Kenyan employment legislation and internal standards.
• Review and benchmark HR policies, procedures, manuals, templates and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate HR operational processes to strengthen consistency, accountability and risk management.
• Develop an implementation roadmap to address identified governance gaps.
• Audit employee contracts and personnel files for statutory compliance and completeness.
• Identify documentation gaps and oversee regularisation of employment records.
• Establish document‑control standards to improve audit readiness.
• Review performance‑management processes and employee accountability structures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR governance, audit or compliance within a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Ability to work closely with senior executives and departmental leaders.
• Track record of developing practical frameworks and implementation roadmaps.
