Junior Digital Marketing and Customer Relations Officer

About the role

SEO Kenya Limited is hiring, on behalf of a client, a Junior Digital Marketing and Customer Relations Officer for an office furniture store in Ngara, Nairobi. The shop sells office chairs, desks and other office furniture through its store, its websites and a lead generation system that was built and run by the recruiter. The role is full time, on site at the store, and pays KES 18,000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Social media: plan and post content on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other platforms, reply to comments and messages and turn enquiries into sales
• Photograph new stock and keep product photos ready for posting
• Video: plan, film and edit short videos on a smartphone (product showcases, store tours, buying tips) and present products on camera
• Websites: update product images, names, prices and descriptions on two to three websites, write titles, descriptions and alt text with target keywords, and handle web enquiries and leads
• SEO: follow the SEO Kenya team's guidance and report anything broken on the sites
• Leads and sales: record every lead, call, walk-in and sale in the lead generation system, follow up each lead until it buys, and share a weekly report
• Customer care: answer calls and WhatsApp messages, guide walk-in customers and help those ordering online, and keep in touch with past customers
• Store support: help keep the showroom neat and display products well

Required profile

• A relevant diploma or degree is a plus but not required; demonstrable skills matter most
• Comfortable on camera, with a portfolio, social pages managed and sample videos
• Good spoken and written English and Kiswahili
• Well organised, honest and able to work independently in a busy store
• Sales or retail experience, and experience with furniture or office products, is an advantage

Required skills

• Proven social media management
• Filming and editing short videos on a smartphone (e.g. CapCut)
• Basic SEO: keywords, product titles, meta descriptions and image alt text
• Basic computer skills, including updating a website dashboard and using spreadsheets
