Lecturer - Epidemiology & Disease Control

About the role

Mama Ngina University College is recruiting a Lecturer in Epidemiology and Disease Control for a full-time, on-site position in Gatundu, Kenya. The post is the entry grade for PhD holders in this cadre and works under the direct supervision of a senior officer. Employment is on permanent and pensionable terms, with remuneration set by the Inter Public University Councils Consultative Forum and the 2021-2025 collective bargaining agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and prepare course materials
• Assess students and supervise academic projects
• Conduct research and publish scholarly work
• Take part in curriculum development and departmental activities

Required profile

• An earned PhD or equivalent doctorate, or a Master's degree, in Population Health, Public Health, Public Reproductive Health, Epidemiology and Disease Control, Monitoring and Evaluation, Community Health, Occupational Health and Safety or its equivalent from an accredited university
• At least three years of university-level teaching experience, or research/industry experience
• At least 24 publication points, of which at least 16 from refereed journal papers
• Evidence of attendance and contribution to conferences, seminars or workshops
• Current registration with relevant professional statutory bodies and membership in a professional association
• Proficiency in computer applications
