Lecturer - Pediatric Nursing

About the role

Mama Ngina University College is recruiting a full-time, on-site Lecturer in Pediatric Nursing in Gatundu, Kenya. The post is the entry grade for PhD holders in this cadre and is paid according to the Inter Public University Councils Consultative Forum (IPUCCF) and 2021-2025 CBA approved salary rates. Employment is on permanent and pensionable terms.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and prepare course materials
• Assess students and supervise academic projects
• Conduct research and publish scholarly work
• Take part in curriculum development and departmental activities

Required profile

• An earned PhD or equivalent doctorate in Pediatric Nursing, Critical Care Nursing or Medical Surgical Nursing from an accredited university, or a Master's degree in one of these fields; a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is also acceptable
• Evidence of university-level teaching experience, or research or industry experience
• Evidence of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and a valid practice license
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Progress towards a Ph.D. is an added advantage

Tutorial Fellows are engaged on one-year contracts (renewable twice) based on progress towards a Ph.D., while lecturers work under the direct supervision of a senior officer.
