- Coordinate piping design with mechanical, process, electrical and instrumentation disciplines
- Select, specify and purchase mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, valves); prepare technical requisitions, evaluate vendor bids and review vendor drawings
- Support FATs and equipment commissioning
- Assess corrosion and degradation mechanisms (CO2 corrosion, chloride pitting, stress corrosion cracking, erosion-corrosion, scaling, sour service) and recommend materials, coatings and linings
- Define and support inspection programmes (corrosion monitoring, wall-thickness surveys, NDT)
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in piping design and/or plant mechanical engineering, preferably in process industries (chemical, geothermal, power, oil & gas, carbon capture)
- Willingness to spend regular time on site supporting operations and maintenance teams
Required skills
- Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, fans) and their common failure modes
- Working knowledge of metallurgy and corrosion mechanisms, and material selection
- Piping design tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D and pipe stress analysis
- Familiarity with ASME B31.3, API 610/617 and equivalent standards
