Merchant Relationship Specialist

About the role

The Merchant Relationship Specialist will build and sustain high‑value relationships with a portfolio of merchants across assigned markets. You will act as the merchant’s internal advocate, driving satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth through proactive account management, first‑line support, and strategic product expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of merchants, conducting regular visits to understand business needs and strengthen engagement.
• Represent merchant interests internally, generate insights, and remove service obstacles.
• Lead onboarding and training sessions, ensuring merchants can navigate the portal independently.
• Drive usage and transaction‑volume growth, reactivate dormant accounts, and identify upsell/cross‑sell opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales to support acquisition and onboarding efforts, and source new merchant leads.
• Respond to merchant queries and complaints, coordinate with internal departments to resolve issues, and document recurring problems for improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing merchant or client portfolios.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence internal teams.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a drive for business growth.
