Orthopaedic Surgeon

About the role

South B Hospital is looking for a qualified, experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon to join its clinical team. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality musculoskeletal care to both elective and emergency patients, ensuring safe and effective surgical outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with musculoskeletal injuries, disorders and diseases.
• Perform elective and emergency orthopaedic surgical procedures in line with clinical standards.
• Manage fractures, trauma cases, degenerative joint conditions and congenital deformities.
• Conduct outpatient consultations, inpatient ward rounds and post‑operative follow‑up.
• Collaborate with anaesthetists, theatre staff, physiotherapists, radiologists and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in emergency and on‑call rosters as required.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.

Required profile

• MBChB or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• MMed in Orthopaedic Surgery or equivalent postgraduate qualification recognised by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
• Valid practising licence from the KMPDC.
• Minimum three years post‑specialisation clinical experience in a busy hospital setting (preferred).
