Procurement and Category Manager – Technology & Digital (EL1)

About the role

ASIC is seeking a senior professional to lead procurement and category management for its Technology & Digital portfolio. The role will shape strategy, manage high‑value contracts and build strong supplier relationships across the agency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute end‑to‑end Technology & Digital category strategies, including demand planning, sourcing and total cost of ownership.
• Deliver complex, high‑value procurements while ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and governance.
• Provide strategic procurement and commercial advice throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Create category roadmaps using market intelligence, spend analytics and emerging technology trends.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks such as supplier dependency, cyber and data risks.
• Establish supplier relationship management frameworks and governance mechanisms.
• Support contract owners with performance monitoring, renewals and commercial issues.
• Drive supplier optimisation, innovation, sustainability and diversity, including engagement with SMEs and Indigenous suppliers.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing procurement team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, category management and contract management, preferably within technology or digital services.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Leadership experience managing a team and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse spend data and market trends to inform strategy.
