Procurement Lead

About the role

The Procurement Lead will be based on‑site in Nairobi County, Kenya, overseeing the full procurement lifecycle for a community‑focused non‑profit organization. You will ensure that goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with the foundation’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan purchasing needs and manage end‑to‑end purchase orders.
• Evaluate, select, and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and monitor market trends.
• Analyze procurement data to develop cost‑optimisation strategies.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with procurement policies.
• Maintain accurate records and produce regular performance reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or supply‑chain management, preferably in facilities, education, or non‑profit sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or related field (preferred).
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work on‑site, manage multiple priorities and collaborate across functions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software.
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel).
