Project Officer – Cash & Markets

About the role

The Project Officer will plan, implement, monitor and document cash and market transfer activities in semi‑arid to arid counties of Garissa, Tana River and Turkana. The role supports the Project Manager and National Office with technical expertise, stakeholder engagement and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Implement all humanitarian cash and market activities, focusing on food assistance and cash‑based programming.
• Identify, register and sensitize cash‑transfer beneficiaries, and conduct trainings for staff, community members and partners.
• Conduct market assessments, monitor prices and support participatory assessments with partners.
• Maintain networks with government ministries, county officials, NGOs and private‑sector players to maximise impact.
• Monitor budget utilisation, ensure compliance with World Vision SOPs and produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Set up and strengthen community‑based feedback structures, document success stories and lessons learned.
• Promote digital systems (LMMS) for activity tracking, beneficiary registration and post‑distribution monitoring.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in cash & voucher programming, market price monitoring and cash‑for‑work/asset interventions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with government, NGOs and private‑sector partners.
• Proficiency in Kiswahili and English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
