Purchasing Trainee

About the role

The Purchasing Trainee will work under the guidance of the Training Manager and Departmental Trainer to learn the core functions of procurement within a luxury hotel environment. This role offers hands‑on exposure to contract management, data handling and purchasing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing department contracts and purchasing requests.
• Establish, update and maintain departmental files and records.
• Create databases, perform data entry and support purchasing projects with research and information gathering.
• Prepare accurate reports within required time frames.
• Authorize payments by forwarding receiving documentation and liaise with accounting to reconcile invoices and purchase orders.
• Organise and file documents to keep information accessible.
• Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analysing and summarising data and trends.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Procurement from a recognised institution (completed coursework acceptable).
• Kenyan citizen.
• No prior work experience required; less than one year since completion (2025/2026).
• Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment.
