Receiving Clerk

About the role

The Social House is looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to manage the intake of goods for its hotel operations. You will ensure that all deliveries are inspected, verified and recorded accurately, supporting the smooth functioning of culinary, food & beverage and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect all goods delivered in accordance with approved procedures.
• Verify each delivery against the Purchase Order/LPO, delivery note and invoice.
• Confirm quantities, descriptions, specifications and approved prices before acceptance.
• Physically count, weigh or measure products where appropriate.
• Check quality, freshness, packaging, manufacturing and expiry dates, especially for perishable items.
• Reject or escalate goods that do not meet specifications and prepare return documentation.
• Prepare and process Goods Received Notes (GRNs) accurately and promptly.
• Record accepted goods in the hotel’s inventory or materials management system.
• Maintain accurate daily receiving records and ensure proper filing of all documents.
• Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Stores, Culinary and other departments to ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards.
