Relationship Manager - Credit

About the role

Equity Bank is seeking a Relationship Manager – Credit to lead credit underwriting and risk management within a branch. The role ensures high‑quality loan portfolios, compliance with credit policies, and excellent service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the credit underwriting process and chair the Branch Credit Committee.
• Prepare and present credit reports, including PAR analysis, portfolio distribution, and monthly credit performance.
• Coordinate the credit perfection process with head office and legal departments.
• Monitor adherence to Service Level Agreements across the credit workflow.
• Enforce compliance with all credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate customer records and verify branch credit transactions.
• Support Relationship Managers – Business in portfolio quality and delinquency minimisation.
• Assess loan applications, make credit decisions within delegated authority, and provide guidance to branch staff.
• Act as liaison between the branch and regional credit functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a credit administration role.
• Deep understanding of the bank’s lending strategy across multiple sectors.
• Proven credit risk management and underwriting expertise.
• Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, loan processing, and regulatory standards.
• Relevant certifications in credit management or banking are a plus.
