Risk and Compliance Manager – Fixed Term (P-4) – Nairobi

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior Risk and Compliance Manager (P-4) on a fixed‑term basis to support its Somalia Country Office from Nairobi. The role is critical for safeguarding resources, ensuring programme integrity and maintaining donor confidence in a highly complex humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen risk management, assurance and compliance activities across the Somalia Country Office.
• Identify, assess and mitigate programmatic, fiduciary and operational risks, including constraints in access and reliance on partners.
• Provide financial assurance, oversee cash transfers and reinforce partner capacity building.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF’s risk and compliance frameworks and donor requirements.
• Support senior managers with risk‑informed decision‑making and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in risk management, compliance or fiduciary oversight within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of complex crisis environments, climate shocks and evolving governance systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and external partners.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
