About the role
GiveDirectly is seeking a Safeguarding Associate Field Manager to lead protection and safeguarding activities in the Migori area. You will work directly with communities, staff and partners to ensure that all programme activities are safe, inclusive and respectful of survivors.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct safeguarding risk assessments and review operational tools to identify and mitigate risks.
- Receive, document and manage responses to safeguarding concerns using survivor‑centred protocols.
- Build and maintain a network of safeguarding focal points across the Mothers and Babies programme.
- Map and strengthen referral pathways with trusted local service providers.
- Provide safeguarding expertise during programme planning, design and delivery.
- Deliver ongoing training, onboarding and sensitisation sessions for staff and partners.
Required profile
- 1‑2 years experience in safeguarding, protection, community development, social work or related fields.
- Strong judgement and ability to act promptly in sensitive situations.
- Commitment to survivor‑centred practice, confidentiality and ethical decision‑making.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and documentation skills.
- Professional fluency in English, Swahili and Dholuo.
