Sales Representative – Paints & Coatings (Nairobi)

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is hiring four Sales Representatives for its Paints, Coatings and Building Materials business in Nairobi, reporting to the Area Sales Manager or Depot Manager. The Sales Representative promotes and sells company products, develops new customers, generates demand and achieves sales targets through effective market coverage and customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Visit dealers, distributors, painters, contractors and customers to promote company products.
• Identify new sites, projects, institutions and construction opportunities, and regularly check ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Build relationships with painters, contractors, applicators, developers and other key influencers.
• Generate leads, develop new customers and support dealers in increasing secondary sales and product movement.
• Conduct product presentations, demonstrations and product awareness activities, and recommend suitable products based on customer needs.
• Maintain follow-up with existing and potential customers, revive dormant customers and handle enquiries and complaints professionally.
• Monitor competitor prices, products and market activity, and share market information with the manager.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales, site visits, leads and demand-generation activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field.
• 2-3 years of sales experience in paints, coatings, building materials or a related industry.
• Willingness to travel and work in the field; a valid driving licence is an added advantage.
