Senior Accountant (Hotel) – Diani

About the role

A hotel in Diani, Kenya, is hiring a hands-on Senior Accountant through its recruitment partner, Summit Recruitment & Search. The role covers day-to-day accounting and finance functions, including reporting, reconciliations, statutory management and budgeting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll and submit statutory deductions (SHIF, NSSF, PAYE) and keep employee files up to date.
• Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information across all business lines.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and annual financial reports.
• Prepare budgets and cash flow forecasts with analysis of actual performance versus budget.
• Handle payables and receivables.
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions from the inventory and store controller.
• Reconcile bank and M-Pesa statements.
• Ensure compliance with tax, license, Tourist Fund, NEMA and VAT legislation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA or ACCA qualification.
• At least 3 years of senior management experience in the hospitality sector.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Good communication and time management.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting systems and general accounting.
• Computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
