Senior Accountant – Marketing & Research Firm

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a medium‑sized experiential marketing and consumer research company. The role will support the finance function by ensuring accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting and compliance with Kenyan accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Conduct cost analysis, produce error‑free accounting reports and present findings.
• Prepare financial statements, budgets and cash‑flow projections on schedule.
• Assist with tax audits, tax returns and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Review and improve accounting systems, policies and internal controls.
• Manage and mentor accounting assistants and bookkeepers.
• Provide technical support to management on financial matters and contribute to departmental goal‑setting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a senior accountant, preferably in a fast‑paced marketing or advertising environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

• ERP systems (experience is an advantage)

• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office
