Senior Associate – Strategic Accounts

About the role

VIDA is looking for a Senior Associate to drive growth of its climate and energy portfolio. You will build relationships with donors, partners and clients, and help secure new projects across East Africa, Germany and surrounding time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Generate leads and conduct market intelligence using tools such as DevelopmentAid.
• Qualify opportunities against client needs, budgets and VIDA’s strategic priorities.
• Track programmes, funding streams, donor priorities and competitor activity to identify market gaps.
• Map and engage potential partners, including engineering firms and consultancies.
• Prepare outreach materials and maintain partner relationships.
• Write and coordinate technical and financial proposals for donors such as the World Bank and African Development Bank.
• Collaborate with Data Solutions and Product teams to gather technical inputs for proposals.
• Maintain accurate records in HubSpot and report on bid outcomes.
• Produce BD materials (decks, one‑pagers, case studies) reflecting current portfolio successes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, partnerships or consulting.
• Proven track record of winning opportunities through tenders, procurement or partner collaborations.
• Familiarity with international development funding and procurement processes.
• Strong understanding of climate, energy and resilience topics.
• Experience engaging donors, clients and senior stakeholders across diverse geographies.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred, but not mandatory.
