Senior Broker – Business Development

About the role

The Senior Broker – Business Development will lead growth initiatives for a leading insurance brokerage in Nairobi. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the role focuses on acquiring new clients, expanding existing relationships and driving revenue across a broad portfolio of insurance and risk‑management solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and convert new business opportunities to meet monthly and annual revenue targets.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, managing prospects through all sales stages.
• Develop and execute targeted business‑development strategies for priority market segments.
• Generate leads through networking, referrals, industry events and other initiatives.
• Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations and solution proposals.
• Negotiate insurance solutions, pricing and terms with insurers to secure profitable business.
• Drive cross‑selling and up‑selling across the organisation’s product portfolio.
• Conduct client needs assessments, design tailored insurance solutions and manage policy renewals.
• Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring high satisfaction.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and provide intelligence for product and pricing strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development within insurance, brokerage or risk‑management services.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain long‑term client relationships.
• Strong negotiation skills with insurers and ability to close profitable deals.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a track record of meeting revenue targets.
